Walking and hiking

We have walking trails over much of the 458 hectare area of the farm, many offering spectacular views of the farm, the Riviersonderend and Langeberg mountains, and the quaint village of McGregor. On the top of one of the hills overlooking the farm and the village there is the “bench with a view” where morning coffee or a sundowner can be enjoyed. Bird life is plentiful and is ideal for bird watchers who are sure to hear the call of the fish eagle. If all you want to do is relax you will have no problem getting away from it all, and catching your breath. And, of course, if you’re planning on doing the McGregor to Grayton walk, in one or both directions, we can assist with arranging transport to the start of the walk in the Riviersonderend Mountains.

Training facilities

Sempurna has a 25m indoor swimming pool, heated in winter. It is ideal not only for casual swimming but is perfect for serious training. There is also a gym facility with an exercise machine and stationary bike in the pool area. The pool is not open to the public, and is available for exclusive use by McGregor swimming clubs and our Sempurna guests staying on the farm.

Mountain Biking

With differing levels of difficulty, our 11km rugged mountain bike/trail running route features a single track through the unspoiled Karoo renosterbos. Both the Cape Epic, as well as The Ride2Nowhere, have traversed through the farm. There are also numerous other mountain biking routes in the nearby vicinity.
